Dr Steven Carnaby

Clinical Psychologist Specialising In Intellectual Disabilities

I am a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience working with adults and children with intellectual disabilities (learning disabilities) and/or autism. I have worked in a range of settings including supported living, residential care, assessment and treatment settings and family homes. I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and I am an Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society.

A background in direct support both as a support worker and manager of services has given me an understanding of the importance of ensuring the person is always at the very heart of decision-making about their own life, working in partnership with their family and involved professionals.

I am passionate about developing and facilitating high quality support with and for people and their networks – and continue to learn from the people I work with about what is needed for them to live the lives they want and deserve.
